BHM Chapel concert Series is proud to present Tom Constenten, former keyboard player with the Grateful Dead.
Mr. Constenten has had a long and distinguished career as a musician including in classical and rock music. TC is the lone surviving former keyboard player for the Grateful Dead. He joined the band in the Sixties and amicably chose to leave the band in 1970. (Some say by leaving the band, he avoided the “curse of the Dead’s keyboard chair” from which 4 others have passed.) Tom recorded on seminal Grageful Dead records including Anthem of the Sun, Aoxomoxoa, and Live/Dead. For the last decade he has been touring with Jefferson Starshiip. For the Chapel Concert he is planning “two solo sets, featuring but not limited to Grateful Dead and Sixties material.” He will be performing solo on piano and vocals.
